The Hobbit - March 2023
Pupils from Year 4- Year 6 enjoyed a performance of the Hobbit as part of our celebration of literature. This wonderful experience allowed our pupils to be exposed to classical literature and enjoyed the sense of awe and wonder that is experienced from a visit to the theatre right here in our school hall!
World Book Day 2023
Dress as a Word
This year our theme for world book day was: dress as a word. Pupils across school threw themselves into the theme with some fantastic costumes based around an adjective!
Bradford Literacy Festival - March 2023
Pupils from Reception - Year 3 attended the celebration for World Book Day held by the Bradford Literacy Festival organisers at The Alhambra.
Pupils were treated to an illustration workshop by Sophy Henn, performances by MC Grammar and anecdotes from BLF’s Storymaster, Gav Cross.
What a fantastic treat for our pupils!
Not All Heroes Wear Capes
To invite pupils back to school, each year group at Blakehill used the theme of heroes as the stimulus. Using a book based around a hero as the focus, pupils explored the messages of heroism, bravery, celebrating differences and the hero within.
