Snow Day 6.1.25
Happy New Year!
What a lot of snow we have today!

Your first mission, should you choose to accept it, is to get out in the snow and explore!
- How high a pile of snow can you make?
- Does it need to be a big mountain or can you make a thin, tall stack?
- How can you change the texture of the snow so it stands tall and strong?
- What do you need to do to the snow to shape it?
- What force will be working against you to make your snow fall back down?

Now that you have fully explored the snow, here are some tasks to keep you busy :)
Have a lovely day and see you tomorrow!

Snow Day 8.1.25
We really are having an icy blast aren't we? I wonder if Father Christmas sent them our way before he went for his long sleep!
Did you notice how the top of the snow froze hard but underneath it was still soft and fluffy. I wonder what similes you could come up with to describe it?
I thought the snow was like a smarty with a solid crunchy layer on the outside.

Here are some more bits to warm up your brains ready to come back!
Have a lovely day!
Maths

Hopefully your memory is refreshed from practising the written method for subtraction. Have a go at these addition and subtraction word problems. You may need to use a bar model to help you understand the question and then a written method to calculate the answer.
