In Science 3N have been exploring different types of Rocks! They have also done a scratch test to find out which type of rock is the hardest. We found out chalk is the softest and marble is the hardest.
Geography has been all about 'Coasts'. We have been learning about the different features at the coastline and how erosion happens. Keep an eye our for our clay models of this during the week!
In Reading lessons, we have been learning all about non-fiction information texts. We have enjoyed navigating our way around a book called 'Coasts' which links into our Geography topic.
Learning how to work collaboratively and cooperatively in PHSE has been a challenge but something we will continue to work on! We have also enjoyed thinking about people who are special to us! Talking is a big part of our PHSE lessons and we are working on listening actively and respectfully to each member of the class. We know everyone has something valuable to bring to the team!
Spanish lesson this week was lots of fun! We learnt some flamenco dance moves as part of International Languages Day!
3N are loving learning how to play the recorder in Music lesson each week! Hopefully we can perform for you one day at an assembly!
In indoor PE lessons, 3N are learning how to play golf. Maybe some of you could give them some tips! In outdoor PE lessons, the children are developing their Netball skills! The children are enjoying both units of work!
In Maths, 3N are working really hard learning some new and challenging concepts around addition and subtraction. Place value coins and Base 10 are amazing to help the children understand. They have had lots of opportunity to use concrete resources while working through this unit of work. Lots of fantastic progress has been made. Well done to all!
Science lessons have been fun as we have been investigating rocks. This week we tested whether rocks were permeable or nonpermeable. The children made great predictions beforehand and wrote up a super investigation.

In Science we have been excited to start a new topic all about Forces. We now know that a force is a push or pull and is used to moved objects. We enjoyed learning about the impact different surfaces can have on how far a toy car moves.
What a super effort by all! Year 3 enjoyed their trip to Bradford Industrial Museum as a hook into their new topic in History! We are looking forward to learning all about what life was like during the Industrial Revolution.
Class 3N have been using Mrs Nelson's 'Bag of SPaG' to help recall spelling, punctuation and grammar definitions and rules!
In Maths, we have started our new unit on Multiplication and Division. We have been doing lots of 'Talk' sorting tasks to help with our understanding!

In Science we have continued to enjoy learning all about magnets! The most interesting fact that we learnt was that all metals are not magnetic! We also loved that we could move things, using the force of a magnet, without touching the objects!
In Maths we have been working really hard learning all about Multiplication and Division! We have been drawing lots of pictures and using resources to help us understand.
We had a very special visitor who brought lots of excitement! Ho ho ho!
In English we have loved reading the Iron Man text. The book has inspired lots of fantastic story writing and poetry!
