We have got snow! How exciting! I bet you are all raring to go to make snowmen., snow angels and go sledging! I hope you have a fantastic time! Miss O'Brien and I would love to see some pictures if you would like to send them to the school office email! :)
I will set you some tasks for you to have a go at around having fun in the snow!
We will do our spelling test on Monday instead of Friday and so you can continue with your practise of that. As always there is also home reading and times table practise. :)
You should see posted assignments below for:
English: Understanding prepositions
Maths: Measure in m and cm
History: What can monuments tell us about the prehistoric period
Art: Create a snow sculpture
Have a lovely day in the snow and with your families!

Follow the link and watch the video. When the teacher asks a question, pause the video and have a go at answering it.
You can answer the questions on a piece of paper.
You will need: a ruler or something you can measure with (a tape measure etc), a pencil and some paper.
Watch the vimeo video to help you understand how to measure in cm and m.
Now, you can choose which task you would like to do:
a. You could find items around your home and measure how long (to the nearest cm they are) for example books, pencils, spoons, pieces of fruit, toys, pieces of lego ect. Create a list on a piece of paper and record how long it was to the nearest cm.
b. Complete the White Rose Maths Hub worksheet. You will need to compete this on a piece of paper as the worksheet is not editable.
Follow the link to watch the video.
Once you have watched the video, complete the quiz! See how much you can remember!
Want to do more?
If this has caught your interest and you want to find out more, why not chose a monument from the video and carry out your own research? Remember a safe search must include the words for kids or KS2 after it. DK Find Out which we uses to explore the bronze age is amazing! You may find some facts on there!
She has asked for you to create art sculptures out of snow. They could be inspired by an artist you know, an animal, a scene you can see, your favourite building.
Mrs Marsden wondered if you could make your sculptures even more exciting by adding food colouring to them!
Send any pictures of your artworks to the school office email: office@blakehill.bradford.sch.uk
