Spring Term

In PSHE, 6N were learning about the importance of being careful when sharing information online. We dramatised how how quickly information posted online can go viral.
Don’t forget: never share anything that might hurt or embarrass someone. Remember that once it has been shared it is difficult to remove – so think before you click!
6N reacted brilliantly to our project-in-a-shoebox homework by producing some outstanding pieces. The aim was to research and share their new found knowledge about ancient civilisations. What a great job they did!
Linked to our Maya History topic, 6N had an interesting week discovering the origins of chocolate, part of this was doing a taste test of different chocolate recipes - all with different degrees of cacao - from 100% cacao to 23% cacao in milk chocolate. Taste buds were certainly challenged!
6N describing and explaining their emotional needs - love these!
6N re-capped how to make series and parallel circuits.  Then they conducted fair tests - answering questions such 'Will the bulb become less bright if I add more bulbs to my circuit?'
What a cracking afternoon of DT Year 6 - with the help of family and friends. Everyone was busy/productive and there was a great team spirit. We will complete our projects tomorrow - the aim being to make a fairground ride that turns (using an electrical circuit). Thank you to everyone who came along to join in the 'fairground fun'!
In DT, 6N needed to produce a fairground ride which turned.  We learned that the best plans led to the best products.  We showed great perseverance and team work to succeed.  Well done everyone!
Editing and improving our writing - describing Maia's stormy scene at sea. There were five groups - each group had a different writing target.  They worked through an activity and then went back to their stormy scene and improved it - well done 6N!
Alice is explaining how to make a sensible estimate of the area of a triangle, by counting the squares and the fractions of squares.
6N had a brilliant time at Tropical World, comparing tropical rainforests with our own temperate rainforest. The children could not believe how humid the air is in a tropical climate. We saw lots of different rainforest plants and animals in their natural habitat and discussed how they have adapted to this environment.  This was a great start to our Rainforest topic.
In Maths, we needed to work cooperatively to measure the size of angles using protractors.
